Daucus carota

Yellow Intermediate

A delicious, lemon-yellow variety introduced in 1946 in the Vilmorin-Andrieux catalog as an improvement in flavor compared to most yellow carrots.

Harvesting seed

Choose your 40 best carrots after digging them up in Autumn.

In cold areas overwinter by storing them in sand or swadust in a cool, frost free place; and then plant out in Spring.

In mild areas carrots can be replanted where you want them to grow.

In the next season allow them to flower and harvest when the seed is dry on the plant in Autumn.

Place the flower umbels into a paper bag for a week to dry further and then rub off the seed by hand.

Store in an airtight container.
